temp­train­ing: Sub­sid­ized Fur­ther Train­ing for Tem­por­ary Workers

The year of 2012 represented a major milestone for the temporary recruitment sector: the Collective Bargaining Agreement on Staff Leasing, short CBA on Staff Leasing. Over 300,000 people are subject to the provisions of the CBA on Staff Leasing, making it the largest collective bargaining agreement in Switzerland. The framework of rules ensures benefits for all parties involved. Recruitment agencies benefit from fair competition. Contracting companies from flexibility. Especially for temporary workers the CBA is en enrichment, as it ensures, among other benefits, a minimum wage, social security and occupational pension. Very particular: Temporary workers signed to the CBA on Staff Leasing can benefit from subsidized further training – the temptraining.

The temptraining offers financial support to temporary workers for occupational further training courses. Since the beginning of temptraining in July 2012, more then 26'000 requests valued at 43 million Swiss Francs have been granted.

An approval requires the following 5 conditions
1) You are a signatory of the CBA on Staff Leasing.
2) You have worked as temporary worker in the past 12 months (at least 176 hours). The more hours, the higher the financial support. More detailed information here (p. 3).
3) The further training has not yet started.
4) The selected course takes place at a temptraining-approved educational institution in Switzerland.
5) The further training enables your career progression. This also includes, for example, language courses or safety training.

In case all 5 conditions are met, follow this application process
1) Select a course at one of the approved institutions.
2) Send your application and all required documents at temptraining (via mail or email).
3) After review and receiving a written approval, you can definitely enrol in the selected course.
4) You need to pay the costs of the training in advance and claim it back from temptraining after finishing the course. In order to do so, send your reimbursement request along with the required documents to temptraining.
