Swiss Franc exchange rate: impacts to the IT- industry
The member companies of theITAssociation “Swico” are optimistic about the year 2015. For this year the turnover is extrapolated of 25.1 billion euros is predicted (15.3 billion IT and telecommunications 9.8 billion). But this extrapolation is without the Euro exchange rate.
The trade and IT consulting area have a challenge this year. After the decision of the Swiss National Bank the prices have risen up to 20%. Also, data centers with headquarters in Switzerland, are expected to adjust their prices. Software developers have higher costs with the decision of the Swiss National Bank. We don’t know what kind of measures companies and service providers have at the moment for the problem of the rising prices, but the companies have prepared the last three years on this exchange rate situation, says Palmisani (Swico member).
In summary the decision of the Swiss National Bank has only a minor impact on the whole IT industry.
