5 Questions for Monica

To learn a little more about her as a person, we asked Monica a few personal questions. Here are her answers:

1) What was the best career advice you ever got?
There were two:
A former manager advised me to “choose your battles”; you can't – even if you want to – be helpful everywhere.

A very good friend gave me the following career advice – apparently using/quoting the statement of a former president "You can't always come up with the optimal solution Monica, but you should always strive to come up with a better solution to change the status quo."

2) What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
Amarena and Hazelnut.

3) Which country do you absolutely want to travel to one day?
I really want to travel to New Zealand because I have seen incredible photographs and documentaries and the novel "The Dancing Headmaster" also introduced me to the New Zealand school system – and I celebrate their school system! I would want to bring it to Switzerland, immediately.

4) Which characteristic had the best boss you ever had?
He had confidence in me from the beginning, let me learn by asking me questions rather than giving answers (e.g. "How would you approach the problem?") and let me participate in various projects.

5) If you were to meet a famous personality (dead or alive) – whom would you want to meet and what would you ask her or him?
Since I would describe myself as a sociable person, I would want to organize a roundtable, right away :-) With Pablo Picasso, Denzel Washington, Hermann Hesse, Mother Teresa and Nelson Mandela. And thank them; because they have inspired countless people with their work/art – whether they wanted to or not. And I would like to ask them what inspired them to go their way and if they would like to tell me about their most beautiful moment in their life.
