Wel­come Lia Bie­der­mann – Coopers joines the Nation­al Future Day 2021

Programming, researching, carpentering, drilling, hairdressing, hammering – and recruiting!
Yesterday, on November 11th, 2021, was the 20th National Future Day ("Nationale Zukunftstag") in Switzerland. Coopers joined in, as well.

The National Future Day is a project day where children and young people get a taste of working life in various professions. They accompany a companion to work and learn what happens there. The goal is to promote a gender-independent choice of occupation, without the influence of stereotypical role models.

More than 4,000 companies and educational institutions registered to participate in 2021; since registration is voluntary, many more companies probably took part. This offered the possibility to get to know a wide range of professions. The over 8000 special projects (at around 1000 companies) were fully booked within the first few hours.

Coopers Group AG at the National Future Day 2021

We think the idea of the National Future Day is great because we know how valuable it is to end up in the right job. Young people learn about different professions and their own interests without being influenced by stereotypical role models. This is a great opportunity to promote diversity and gender equality in the future.

So, at Coopers we were more than happy to open our doors to potential young employees on Future Day. Lia, the daughter of our Managing Director, Christian Biedermann, was allowed to peek over his shoulder at work. This is how Christian experienced it: "National Future Day is a wonderful and enriching initiative. Lia accompanied me all day yesterday and looked over my shoulder at all my activities. We talked about new sourcing opportunities, trends, our Coopers culture, ongoing projects and even visited a client together. It was a fantastic day and Lia was able to gain insight into a new field of work."
