Clinical Pharmacologist

We are looking for a clinical pharmacologist to lead clinical pharmacology programs in all phases of clinical development.

The clinical pharmacologist's role is pivotal in designing and executing pharmacological studies, interpreting complex data, and providing strategic insights that inform drug development processes. The pharmacologist collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to enhance our understanding of drug safety and efficacy, ultimately impacting patient care.

 

Location: Basel

Workload: 50%

Duration: 6 months/possible extension

Responsibilities:

  • Design and oversee pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic studies to assess drug behavior in various populations.
  • Analyze and interpret complex clinical data, generating comprehensive reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to develop study protocols and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Represent clinical pharmacology at the clinical development team by designing and executing clinical pharmacology studies to investigate the influence of intrinsic and extrinsic factors on PK/PD, & drug-drug interactions.
  • Apply quantitative pharmacology by integrating clinical PK/PD, biology, pharmacology, toxicology, and biomarkers for dose optimization.
  • Collaborate with external networks in the field of clinical pharmacology, modelling & simulation (e.g. academia, consortia & CROs) and keep up to date with emerging literature and science in drug development.

Requirements:

  • PharmD or Ph.D. degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences related fields with a minimum of 5 years in clinical pharmacology.
  • Strong understanding of pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and drug metabolism.
  • Experience in different phases of drug development within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to influence, negotiate and collaborate with team members.
