For our client in the MedTech industry, we are looking for a hardware integration Engineer
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Driving System Integration & Integrity: You will act as a guardian of system quality, leading the physical and logical integration of hardware and software modules into a cohesive, high-performing whole.
- Hardware Parametrization & Firmware Interaction: Rather than just verifying a small part in isolation, you will define critical parameters, configure and program test software, and parameterize the firmware and software to optimize performance and ensure smooth and reliable operation over its lifetime.
- Proactive Robustness & Endurance Testing: Instead of simply executing scripts, you will design and arrange advanced electromechanical test setups, long-term endurance trials, and lifetime reliability tests (targeting critical metrics like MTBF and MTBRV) to explore the system's limits under real-world conditions including SW.
- Transforming Data into Insight: You will listen to what our instruments are telling us. By continuously supervising parameters, tracking hardware counters, and analyzing complex data logs, you will turn raw observations into actionable improvements.
- Collaborative Troubleshooting & Root-Cause Analysis: You will own the journey of mechatronic issues from first discovery to resolution. Collaborating across electronics, mechanics, firmware and software teams, you will perform deep-dive troubleshooting to deliver elegant, fact-based fixes.
- Bridge-Building across R&D and Operations: You will serve as a key technical partner, ensuring the smooth transfer of robust, validated mechatronic designs to our global manufacturing and service partners.
Must Haves:
- A BSc/MSc degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline
- 5 years of hands-on experience in HW/SW integration, unit- and system-level testing, or mechatronic troubleshooting
- Experience in a regulated environment (such as MedTech, Diagnostics, IVD, or GxP) is a strong advantage Technical Toolkit:
- A deep understanding of mechatronics (the physical interplay between mechanics and electronics) and its interaction with firmware and software.
- Experience in scripting or programming for test execution and automation.
- Comfort and experience working in a Linux environment.
- Mindset: A curious investigator who loves to figure out how complex systems work under the hood. A strong interest in emerging technologies and are eager to explore how AI-assisted tools can be leveraged to optimize hardware testing and data analysis. The person works precisely and persistently, communicating technical findings with empathy and clarity to foster collaborative solutions.
- Fluency in English is required; German is a great advantage for local collaboration.
