Research Scientist

We are hiring for our client a global leader in crop protection, this organization supports farmers in overcoming threats to agricultural productivity — from weeds, insects and diseases to environmental stress such as drought, floods, heat and cold. Its mission is to help ensure safe, nutritious and affordable food for all while promoting responsible use of land and agricultural inputs.

Your Tasks:

  • Independently plan, schedule and conduct high-quality experimental projects

  • Collect and document data in compliance with patent and reporting requirements

  • Maintain detailed records and perform data analysis using digital tools (databases, tables, graphics)

  • Present and discuss results with supervisors

  • Conduct special tests related to:

    • Mechanism and site of action

    • Uptake, distribution and metabolism

    • Application timing

    • Activity profiles across various crops

    • Routine activity testing of substances

  • Work across laboratory, greenhouse and field environments

  • Handle biological materials with elevated safety classification (S2) and perform sterile work

  • Independently develop and refine experimental methods

  • Take responsibility for general laboratory facilities or specific specialized areas

Your Profile:

  • Strong IT skills

  • Solid prior knowledge relevant to the role’s responsibilities

  • Good German and English communication skills (B2 level or higher)

  • Experience with plants and plant diseases

  • Background in microbiology; experience in molecular biology and/or microscopy is advantageous

  • High degree of independence, organizational talent, and ability to quickly and confidently master new tasks

  • Strong decision-making abilities and technical understanding

  • Transparent communication, team-oriented mindset, and openness to feedback

  • Flexibility in adapting to changing project needs
