About the Study

Each year, the Computerworld ranking shows how the Swiss ICT market is developing, who is growing, who is stagnating, and which new players are gaining importance.

It is based on revenue generated in Switzerland in the last fiscal year (2024) and was compiled between May and July 2025 through an online survey and editorial research.

Coopers: Swiss ICT Partner

As the current Computerworld analysis shows, the Swiss ICT industry is at a turning point. Growth is no longer a given. What is required is focus, partnerships, and adaptability.

At Coopers we rely on exactly these principles: sustainable relationships, specialization, and Swissness. Because in a changing market, one thing remains constant, the value of trust and genuine collaboration. Please get in touch if you wish to collaborate on an ICT project.

We look forward to another year full of exciting projects, new partnerships, and shared successes.

ICT 101

ICT stands for Information and Communication Technology. It includes all technologies used to capture, process, store, and exchange information, such as computers, networks, databases, software, and cloud services.

Almost, but not quite. IT usually refers to information systems in the narrower sense (hardware, software, and data processing). ICT is broader and also includes communication technologies, for example the internet, telephony, networks, or mobile systems.

Careers in ICT are diverse, from software development, system administration, and project management to IT security, data science, or support. Professionals develop, operate, or optimize digital solutions and ensure that organizations can work smoothly.

Computer science describes the scientific foundation of information processing, that is the theory behind algorithms, software, and data. ICT refers to the practical application of these technologies in business and organizational contexts.

ICT consulting supports organizations in optimizing IT strategies, processes, and technologies to increase efficiency, security, and innovation.

Interim managers take on leadership or expert roles for a limited time, for example in projects, restructurings, or digital initiatives.

Project management in ICT ensures that projects, for example software implementation, infrastructure modernization, or cloud migration, stay within time, budget, and quality targets.
