For our client from the medical devices sector in the Canton Zürich, we are looking for a Global Trade Compliance/Customs Specialist with experience in import/export laws and regulations, including customs requirements, export controls, and trade sanctions.
Your Tasks:
- Responsible for ensuring that all import and export activities comply with applicable international trade laws, regulations, and internal policies
- Supporting the global organization in minimizing Trade Compliance risk, maintaining operational efficiency, and enabling lawful global trade
- Ensuring that cross-border transactions are conducted in full compliance with customs, sanctions, and export control requirements
- Oversight of import/export processes, classification of goods, screening of business partners, and continuous monitoring of regulatory changes that may impact the company’s operations.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable import/export laws and regulations, including customs requirements, export controls, and trade sanctions. - Maintain and enforce internal trade compliance policies, SOPs, procedures, and controls.
- Classify products using appropriate tariff codes (e.g., HS, ECCN), ensure accurate documentation (LLEs, End User Certificates), Preference Calculation
- Conduct restricted party screening in GTS, release GTS blocks daily, and escalate potential compliance risks
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (logistics, sales, procurement, legal, finance, tax.. etc) to ensure compliant trade operations.
- Act as a subject matter expert on trade compliance, customs matters and provide guidance to business units and stakeholders.
- Support internal and external audits related to trade compliance and customs
- Monitor and interpret regulatory changes and assess their impact on the organization (CBAM, US Tariffs, Trade Agreements)
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with legal retention requirements. - Identify compliance risks and implement corrective and preventive actions together will the Trade Compliance Team.
- Support internal stakeholder and Trade Compliance Manager in Projects
- Generate reports and KPIs related to compliance performance and risk exposure
Your Profile:
- Completed vocational education and training
- Fluent German and English
- Further education in trade compliance and CH/EU customs regulations
- Trade Compliance SAP and GTS
- Good MS XL level
- High Integrity & Ethical Judgment - Risk Awareness & Critical Thinking
- Curiosity & Continuous Learning Mindset
- Efficient and goal-oriented mindset

- Good communication skills, team oriented, and open for new ideas
